Visit Lincoln were looking for a newly innovative and exciting way to promote tourism to the historic city of Lincoln. They commissioned the creation of three individual videos that would be used as social media marketing tools, with an aim to encourage people to consider Lincoln as their next possible place to explore.
For this particular video, Wallbreaker were tasked with creating a stylistic 1st person video to be targeted at young adults and couples. This 1st person style was implemented during the filming process.
By placing our Ronin camera gimbal in a chest-mounted position, we were able to allow the audience to envision physically being there in the scenes. Some shots were also filmed on a chest-mounted GoPro. The end result visually portrays what visitors might expect to experience when visiting the historic buildings, retail outlets, bars and hotels throughout Lincoln. The creative team also cast a local actress to play the girlfriend of our 1st person character; this was an effective way of using humour to relate with the audience.
A 30 second version of the film is now used for social media advertising and plays on digital screens throughout Lincoln.
